Twee-dle-dee-dee

The (mostly British) word "twee" has been following me around. I think I could use it in place of "cute"– yes? no? Hm. I scanned these little shoes in for the book I'm working on. I daresay things are getting rather twee over here.

I can honestly say i've never heard that word before! My new favorite. And those shoes...darling! Or I guess I should say "twee!"

I always thought "twee" was supposed to be disparaging...like "olde worlde twee" or something, but then I'm not British, so...I would just call your shoes adorable!

You are probably correct too Jennifer...I keep hearing it used in a variety of contexts-yes sometimes as a belittling form of cute. Check out how Webster's uses it. Urban usage is different too. I just love how the word sounds!
